Notes for Accepted Students
Transportation to Sites
Transportation to the archaeological sites both in Athens and elsewhere in Greece is by private bus.
Each home institution makes its own determination about the number of credits to assign to a student who has successfully completed Greek Studies on Site requirements. We suggest three credits for a summer seminar.
Students seeking credit in 3-week courses are required to complete a minimum of 60 hours of combined instruction and field study. This includes a total of 30 hours of field study, in addition to 30 hours of in-class instruction.
Grades and Transcripts
Grades are based on written examinations and quizzes, class attendance, and participation. Typically, students seeking credit are required to take a final exam and write one research paper. Upon completion of the course, an official transcript will be issued to the student's academic institution.
Non-EU citizens are strongly encouraged to acquire health insurance for travelers before coming to Greece. EU citizens must have acquired the European Health Insurance Card.
All participants are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance to cover program fees and related travel expenses.
